El Floridita – 1253 N. Vine St.; 323-871-8612. As you enter El Floridita, you are suddenly transported to Havana, Cuba, for a hot night of Cuban cuisine and dancing. It's faithfully modeled after the original El Floridita opened in Havana in 1820 where the daquiri cocktail was created. Live salsa and Cuban bands perform Mon., Wed., Fri., and Sat. Open 11:30am-1am, on these nights. Closes at 10pm on Tues., Thurs., and Sun.

The Garage – 4519 Santa Monica Blvd.; 323-662-6802. L.A.'s alternative rock center of Silverlake is crowded, cool, and kitschy. From the orange, metallic-flamed entrance, make your way to the Tiki Room, Red & Black Bar, and the Pinball Room. Nightly entertainment features everything from loud, thrashing Punk to local unsigned Rock acts, as well as Reggae and Disco. Open nightly, 9pm-2am.

The Opium Den – 1605 1/2 N. Ivar Ave.; 323-466-7800. The name says a lot. Gothic meets glam at this rough-around-the-edges venue for the latest bands. Stock Exchange – 618 S. Spring St.; 213-489-3877. Downtown LA This double level venue offers you a choice of music in 2 separate rooms. Join KISS FM DJ JoJo on Fridays as he broadcasts live with Christian B., 9pm-2am. Saturdays brings a variety of music, including house, techno, 70's and 80's, and sets of salsa and Spanish rock, 9pm-3am. Parking available off of 6th Street.

360 Degrees – 6290 Sunset Blvd.; 323-871-2995. Whether you're dining, lounging, or salsa dancing, 360 Degrees is the place to be. The restaurant offers American fare with a Southern twist. The décor is modern, and the view of L.A. is spectacular. Come Tuesday nights for a mostly gay crowd, Wednesdays for salsa, and Thursdays for two London D.J.'s spinning "old school" and funk. There's no cover for the lounge, but there is a line; so get there early.
